COPACETIC at ERS 2009

The ERS 2009 Annual Congress will be held in Vienna, on September 12-16. On Sunday 13^th of September, ERS inserted a session on EU Research Programmes.

Three studies will be presented 1] Gabriel (genetic factors of asthma), 2] EvA (markers of emphysema / airway disease in COPD) and 3] COPACETIC (genetic background of COPD).  At 1 p.m. in room Lehár 1-2, this session starts and at 2 p.m. the coordinating investigator Pieter Zanen will give an introduction to COPACETIC. He will present the basic concepts and study design of the COPACETIC research project. Next, at 2.15 p.m., Cisca Wijmenga will present the first results on genetic determinants of COPD.
